“Caspio…commands the stage when performing.” – Sun Newspapers
“The National Organization for Women was on a tight deadline when we contacted Ray Caspio to provide the artwork for our 2008 National NOW Conference. The theme of the conference was women superheroes, and Ray provided us with a beautiful customized image that we used proudly on our website, in emails, on the cover of our program book and on the big screen throughout the event. He delievered the art quickly, was easy to work with, and, best of all, we received a number of compliments on how well the art represented both NOW and our conference theme. We would love to work with Ray again in the future.” – Lisa Bennett, NOW Communications Director
Ray is – in no particular order – an actor, cabaret performer, illustrator, and graphic designer currently residing in Cleveland, Ohio. Why Cleveland? He has no idea.
His earliest illustrative works include a scene from the opening theme to Bewitched (Crayola marker on typing paper), Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman (pencil on scrap paper), and Laverne’s cursive L (ink pen on baby book). Ray’s work has improved over the years, earning a degree in illustration, and his subjects remain close to his heart.
Clients have included The National Organization for Women (NOW), Cuyahoga Community College, Citadel Press (The Liza Minnelli Scrapbook), Burning River Integrated, LLC, The Beck Center for the Arts, The Cleveland Area College Consortium, The Press Club of Cleveland, The Baum Bugle (Production Editor), and re:Create.
Ray is as comfortable on stage as he is with a pencil. His training includes Chekhov and Meisner techniques, and in June 2010, he will be studying Alba Emoting. Favorite roles have included Hal in Proof and Barry in The Boys Next Door. In November 2009, Ray made his cabaret debut at PlayhouseSquare Center in What Makes a Man?. An expanded version of that show is currently in development.
